David Ehrich - 2000

David Ehrich

David Ehrich of St. Mary's while hunting at Paradise Ranch with his guide Phil and Guide/videographer Pat, his father, and UBP Executive Director, Mike Lamade, in the blind with him.

The buck wandered back and forth for more than 30 min. without stopping in the area where David would be able to shoot. David is not able to move his crossbow from side to side very well and therefore could not move the crossbow to the buck. The buck had to walk into his shooting zone.

Finally after more than 30 minutes the buck finally gave David the shot he had been waiting for. The buck only traveled 50 yards after the shot till he expired. The buck weighed 248 pounds and scored 135 SCI. Several times while they were waiting for the buck to step into the shooting lane he would turn and leave to chase several smaller buck. Everyone in the blind breathed a huge sigh after David finally was able to make the shot. It is amazing that he had the patience and composure to wait.

Thanks again to Donny Beaver and the folks at Paradise lodge and outfitters for supplying the hunts and helping to make dreams become a reality.
